Kwa Chong Guan - Senior Fellow, S Rajaratnam School of International Studies

Kwa Chong Guan is a Senior Fellow of S Rajaratnam School of International Studies and was the man who recognised the Oral History Centre and concurrently the old National Museum. In 1980s, he led the expansion of the old National Museum to its current three museums and their consolidation under the National Heritage Board. He shares with DNA, ISL the importance and functions of archives and offers a glimpse into his career in the public service and Singapore’s history before the era of Sir Stamford Raffles.

Goenawan Mohamad - Founder, Tempo Magazine

Goenawan Mohamad is the founder of Indonesia's Tempo magazine and a leading voice of democracy in the country. As founding editor, Mr Goenawan had to make the tough call of whether to continue Tempo's critical reporting of the government and face a ban, or toe the line to ensure survival. DNA talks to him about how he came to his decision and stuck to his principles, as well as his take on the many Indonesian leaders he has observed.
